Falco Cycle Hub Roll-out for Avanti West Coast Rail Network

Home Case Studies Falco Cycle Hub Roll-out for Avanti West Coast Rail Network

At the end of 2021, Falco began the roll-out of cycle parking infrastructure to a number of stations on the Avanti West Coast Main Line rail franchise, which covers one of the most important railway corridors within the UK.

The scheme which got underway towards the end of last year, oversees the manufacture, supply and installation of bespoke cycle hubs and associated cycle parking infrastructure to a series of stations on the rail network, as part of a mission by the new train operating company to revolutionise cycle-rail travel.

Warrington Station Cycle Hub

Falco are delighted to install facilities at nine stations on the Avanti West Coast station network across long-distance passenger services between London, the West Midlands, North West England, North Wales and Scotland - connecting six of the UK’s largest cities.

Two key products of the tranche include the UK’s leading FalcoHub cycle hub coupled with the high density FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack and when combined together create the ultimate cycle parking facility, providing cyclists with high levels of cycle security in a spacious and contemporary hub design. Additionally the provision of cycle repair and maintenance stations will allow commuters to carry out cycle maintenance whilst on the go.

In addition to the Avanti West Coast scheme shown here, Falco has just completed the roll-out of over 350 cycle parking spaces for a number of stations on the Govia Thameslink Railway network, over 600 cycle parking spaces for a number of stations on the Abellio Greater Anglia network and over 1,000 cycle parking spaces on a number of stations on the Abellio West Midlands Trains network.

The FalcoLevel-Premium+ is the UK’s leading two-tier cycle rack designed to accommodate twice as many cycles within the same space restraints or any traditional cycle rack or stand. Moving forward, the two-tier cycle racks are designed to be maintenance free to provide minimal cost of ownership to the client (only occasional cleaning required). Additionally should there be any unforeseen damage, the modular nature of each structure means that replacing any damaged items is simple and easy to undertake.
