Falco Takes Off at Manchester Airport
Home Case Studies Falco Takes Off at Manchester Airport
Falco has just completed the design, manufacture, supply and installation of three bays of multi-function FalcoZan-180 cycle shelters complete with two-tier cycle racks for Manchester Airport!
Providing passengers and visitors to the airport with high levels of cycle security, each bay accommodates up to 18 bikes, providing a total 54 cycle parking spaces, all conveniently located outside Manchester Airport Railway Station, adjacent to the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Each 4m bay of FalcoZan-180 features a sustainable green sedum roof and eco-friendly solar LED lighting, providing complete night time illumination without the capital and on-going costs of providing a mains power source.
The green sedum roof, an increasingly popular feature for Falco shelters, supports the airport’s sustainable development plan by providing the many advantages associated with green roof systems as well as insulation for both heat and noise. A sedum roof both reduces water discharge as well as compensating for CO2 emissions. A further benefit of green roof systems is that they traditionally last longer than a usual roof covering and offer a natural view for visitors to the nearby hotel.
The UK’s leading FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack is used within each FalcoZan, providing twice the amount of cycle spaces compared to any other traditional cycle stand or rack.
Each shelter is powder coated in a Signal Blue RAL colour with the distinctive TransPennine Express ‘Bike Shed’ cycle branding and graphics highlighting the new facility available for passenger and visitor use.
In addition to Manchester Airport shown here, Falco has also supplied many other airports across the UK including; Heathrow, Birmingham, Liverpool John Lennon, Norwich, Bristol, East Midlands, Barra and Oban airports.
