Falco supports the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme in a number of ways. BSF is the biggest-ever school buildings investment programme with the aim to rebuild or renew almost every secondary school in England and a large part of that rebuilding includes cycle parking, bin stores, street furniture, canopies and shelters for the external works.

Back in February this year Falco officially announced the opening of our new environmentally sustainable head office in Vriezenveen in the Netherlands. Due to strong growth over the last five years the decision to consolidate all its Dutch operations into a single integrated European facility was approved.

Falco cycle shelters and stores have been installed at numerous schools, colleges and academy’s throughout the UK, so it was only natural that we took a stand at the recent BSEC Building Schools for the Future exhibition at London’s ExCel centre.

Falco had an excellent visit to the London Cycle show meeting up with some very enthusiastic cyclists as they strolled their way through the dynamic event at London’s Earls Court last week. As visitors enjoyed the show, upgraded their bikes and participated in a variety of different obstacle courses, Falco was given the opportunity to emphasise the large amounts of cycle parking solutions available to meet all budgets.

The ladies at Falco showed their support for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the Race for Life charity event. The event took place at Tatton Park in Cheshire on the 19th June 2010 where participants turned out in their thousands. Our ladies put their best foot forward to complete the distance of 5km as they battled it out against the sizzling summer sun.

Dutch Railways knew that an attractive, integrated cycle solution would be required at stations if their passengers were to fully embrace the concept of continuing their journey on a cycle. Their CyclePoints, which offer secure, staffed storage, rental, repair and sales, met an existing customer need, and have proven to be extremely popular with passengers.

After the success

Falco’s UK operation has moved to new and larger premises. After strong growth of the business over the last few year’s, Falco’s UK operation has outgrown it’s offices based in Leek and moved a mile down the road to Leekbrook. Falco’s new UK office is five times larger that the old office and provides the business with much needed warehousing space and much better facilities for the operational side of the business.

As part of its commitment to training and development, Falco staff Lucy Baker and Kath Ferns, both former Business Apprentices, joined MD Jeremy Green to help promote apprenticeships for young people at a Skillsbase breakfast seminar on Wednesday morning.
