Cycle parking at Cambridge railway station has always been a contentious issue. As the UK’s foremost cycling city, up to a thousand cyclists can leave their bikes at the station on any weekday and with high demand and limited space, finding an empty space can take some time. Working with Cambridgeshire County Council, Abellio Greater Anglia and Brookgate Developments, Falco has recently installed 40 spaces of Falcolevel (20 manual lift and 20 gas strut assisted) as part of a long term trial. Users of the railway station are invited to give feed back on the ease of use via the Cambridgeshire County Council website.
Feed back had been limited in the early part of the trial so in order to raise the profile of the trials, Cambridgeshire County Council invited cyclists to an open day last Sunday where representatives from the County council along with Greater Anglia were present to answer questions on future cycle parking plans at the station.
