We are delighted that Falco’s HGV Driver, Simon Edge, has raised £320 for Cancer Research UK, by participating in the ‘100 Push Ups Challenge’ each day throughout November.
The definitive bodyweight challenge is a real test of upper-body muscles, especially the chest, shoulders and triceps, which aims to complete 100 push ups a day, for a set period of time, which in Simons case, was every day throughout the month of November.
Discussing the challenge, Simon explained “I just saw the challenge pop up on a social media site and it was not long after my Wife’s Aunty was diagnosed with terminal cancer. So, without really thinking about it, I signed up for the challenge with only 5 days to practice. After three days of practice attempts, I was really questioning my decision, so I had two rest days. When I started I really struggled for the first week but the days started to get easier after that, by week three I was determined to hit 200 in a day with a set of 100 in one go. My total number of push ups was 3,678!”.
Managing Director, Rob Harper, added “We all take our hats off to Simon in completing this challenge, 100 Push up’s a day requires some strength and commitment to complete while fitting this around his family and work life, many congratulations Simon, a great result for a good cause”.
The ‘100 Push Ups Challenge’ is one of four charity events held by Falco staff within the past year, with other fundraising events include raising £450 for the Trussell Trust, raising £180 for DEC Ukraine and raising £780 for Cancer Research UK Stoke-on-Trent Pretty Muddy £5k Obstacle Run.
All of the Falco team would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Simon on raising such a large sum of money for a vital charity.
