The Oldest Hospital in Britain Receives Falco Cycle Parking Infrastructure

Continuing with the roll-out of cycle parking infrastructure to NHS trusts across the UK, Falco has recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed a series of cycle parking infrastructure for St Bartholomew's Hospital in London - which is the oldest hospital in Britain!

Managed by Barts Health NHS Trust, St Bartholomew's Hospital is located in the centre of London, close to St Paul’s Cathedral and is set to celebrate its 900th birthday in 2023!

Located within the congestion zone and with no public car parking available, walking and cycling to the hospital is strongly encouraged. Due to the increasing demand for secure cycle parking spaces, Falco has recently manufactured, supplied and installed a series of 130 spaces of FalcoLevel two-tier cycle racks coupled with 16m of the FalcoRail cycle canopy and 48 spaces of the FalcoVert semi-vertical cycle rack, to meet staff, patient and visitor demand.

The scheme here at St Bartholomew's Hospital makes use of the tried and tested FalcoLevel two-tier cycle parking system and the popular FalcoRail cycle canopy, which when combined together, create an attractive cycle park - providing cyclists to the hospital with high levels of cycle security, all in a spacious contemporary canopy design. The steelwork on the cycle canopy has been powder coated in a cordial 7011 Iron Grey RAL colour for added durability with LED lighting incorporated into the canopy structure for night-time illumination.  

The new facility, with everything a cyclist will need in order to visit the hospital by bike, has been installed to the north of the hospital grounds, next to Little Britain road and near to the restaurant and coffee shop.
